The Mansion House
Mansion House is a rare surviving Georgian town palace in London. With its magnificent interiors and elegant furniture, the Mansion House provides the Lord Mayor of the City of London with living, working and entertainment space. Built in the age of Hogarth, the Mansion House, then as now, is a symbol of the City of London as the world’s leading international financial and trading centre.
The Corporation of the City of London is kindly hosting a reception for all conference delegates on the eve of the conference, Wednesday 17 March 2010. There is no charge for this event; however, tickets will have to be obtained separately from the conference organisers and will be issued on a 'first come' basis, as numbers are limited.
Guildhall
Building work on the present Guildhall began in 1411, and, having survived both the Great Fire of London and the Blitz, it is the only secular stone structure dating from before 1666 still standing in the City. Home of the City of London Corporation, Guildhall has entertained world leaders and continues to provide a splendid venue for state banquets and special events.
The conference will take place in the Old Museum, with lunch and refreshments being served in the Crypts.
The Great Hall is the third largest civic hall in England, in which royalty and state visitors have been entertained down the centuries. The imposing medieval architecture has stained-glass windows, and several monuments to national heroes, including Admiral Lord Nelson, the Duke of Wellington and Sir Winston Churchill. The Gala Dinner will take place here.
